We were commissioned to design a PowerPoint template for Sakuma Special Steel Co., Ltd.'s internal materials. While the immediate need was for seminar presentations, we proposed a versatile PowerPoint template design that could be utilized across various business scenarios, such as company introduction materials and recruitment presentations.
For the cover design, we provided two versions: one using photographic materials and another using illustrated elements. The color scheme was tailored to align with the company's new branding, ensuring consistency with the recently updated website design. This approach ensures that the PowerPoint materials reflect the refreshed brand identity across all applications.
When creating a PowerPoint template design, I classified the slides into two categories: “fixed slides” and “variable slides.” Fixed slides include content that is unlikely to change frequently, such as mission, vision, and value slides. For these slides, PHAINO DESIGN has delivered the completed designs, including illustrations and layouts.
For graphs, we incorporated colors based on a style guide to ensure that the color usage could be easily referenced by internal team members after delivery. The final data was delivered with these styles applied.
Variable slides, which may have different text, structures, or images depending on the document’s purpose, were set up using PowerPoint’s Slide Master. This setup includes text placeholders for elements such as headings, lead text, and subheadings, as well as image placeholders. In the PowerPoint editing view, users can insert images via drag-and-drop or a single click, and the images are automatically cropped and placed according to the size and shape predefined in the template.
Additionally, guide lines were set up in the Slide Master to help maintain consistent margins and align text properly within the slides. This ensures that even non-designers can efficiently create presentations with a cohesive design. This manual is designed to help users understand the functionality and create documents more efficiently.
Additionally, we developed a style guide for the presentation materials, which includes information on the fonts to use, key points to note, and the color palette registered in PowerPoint. This ensures that Sakuma Special Steel Co., Ltd.'s branding is consistently reflected throughout the PowerPoint template. Through these resources, we aim to provide comprehensive support for seamless and professional use of the template.
